I don't get any of this and I don't know whether to be amused or depressed. We gave up karting when my son got too big (6ft5in and too much time in the gym) but there were all the same discussions going on here then. Whether Honda engines could be made level, whether this new rule was correct, whether it was all a cheque book sport etc etc etc. I'm not sure why I visited the forum now but it feels like I have never been away. We raced in TKM4 stroke which apart from the 100hour (really) rebuild costs was the most even and cost effective racing available. All the motors were sealed by a single sealing agent (TalKo) and in my experience they were all very even on performance. A bit slower than Rotax but very close racing. Service costs were not cheap but at 100 hour intervals they were contained. There were other niggles but overall the result was a series that could genuinely claim to have been won by the best driver.
It was ignored by people in their droves.
I seems that other series like Easykart that attempt to level the playing field are not exactly overflowing. The result is that TKM4/ is now dead, the other series almost limp along and we still have the debate about the monster engines in Rotax, Honda and now X30. Like the man says "I don't get it" See you 5 years!!
