From an IKR rotax user, racing on the cheap, from the unwanted Rotax price crash (so benefitting in a way)! - I agree with you Alan, in particular the tyre change away from D2 in senior - one big question WHY, what's wrong with D2???
Really could do with seal removal - that would be a good idea! People who want to use engine builders can - and many still do in unsealed X30. I can see no reason at all to retain the seal.
