While this has been more than exhaustively covered on K1 in over 500 posts, it surely boils down to this:
- like everywhere else in the world, you will doubtless be able to buy a current, 2015 Rotax - called the 'Evo' - here in the UK, too. Hell, what else are they going to sell, and to whom? The fact that you will not be able to race it in MSA meetings until whenever is another story. That may or may not matter to you. If buying new for anything other than MSA racing, an Evo will be the only sensible choice because it will almost certainly be a much better product and will retain more value.
- if you want a previous generation Rotax ('Prevo'), buy used or at least make sure you get a substantial discount
- bear in mind how much the euro has depreciated against sterling in the past couple of months: prices of all eurozone-sourced engines (i.e. virtually all of them) should come down, too - of course they won't. Just don't accept something like £100-150 as a 'discount' because the distributor (often falsely and misleadingly called 'importer') will have made at least that on the exchange already
