The new TAG motors don't recharge the battery - Alan Turney told me when i bought my TAG last month. In that time I have had two relays fail, but they ordered a new batch of them and now its fine. I think its a bad batch of relays. Luckily for me mine went when i was sat on the dummy grid/making my way into parc ferme. When they failed it locked on permanently live so the battery was constantly turning over the starter motor, even with me holding down the stop button. I think your relay must have done the same as mine but at an unfortunate time. Either that or you just had a duff battery, as mentioned before.
