I second itpro on all points, follow that and you can't go wrong.

IAME would be the best bet for you. But don't MSA yet do IKR (non MSA) at both Hooton and 3S, not as many controls and you can enter for less on both the kart and driver race wear. Get loads of seat time at IKR, then maybe after a year decide to move to MSA or stay IKR.

Apart from one particularly good year for us in MSA, our happiest times were in IKR, we are retired now - usual reasons, cost, parity, consistency, lad has to focus on studies etc. Still really miss it though.

Get into in the right way, don't aspire to F1, have fun with your lad, the first time either you or him don't really have fun - give up.
