ye I have been racing 4 years now, and only just realised how much of an issue the jet size in rotax actually is. I think it is crazy that the original manufactures can get away with selling jets marked with a number that basically doesn't mean anything!... I often wondered why changing jets did not always have the desired effect I had predicted! I have about 4 of each commonly used size jet, which in the past I have just picked any, like you say a complete lottery! There is no way of getting a true comparison when testing two carbs back to back, Unless you use the same correct jet in each carb! Its pointless putting a 158 in one carb and then another 158 in the other as they could be a 165 and a 162 for all you know!

definitely Think a set of accurate pin measured jets or a set of Genie Jets would be a good addition to have! how much did you pay and where from moondog78?
