Brendan,
Glad you're enjoying it - you missed a cracking race day at Hooton Park on Sunday, the final could easily have gone any one of 4 ways for a winner. Unfortunately I was trying to claw back 4 seconds over 6 laps to get back on the train, and only managed 3 of them. Got lucky right at the end, but only through Marcus and Matt's misfortune.
The reason Hooton and Wigan have gone in the calendar twice is twofold. They are a pair of clubs close to one another that have a relatively recent history of decent TKM grids, so we knew there were drivers and karts that might have an interest. The second was that we were trying to make it possible for someone in the Manchester/Cheshire/Lancashire area (e.g. me :) ) be able to compete in championship where it was possible to get to all the circuits within an hour or two from home. I really, really, really wanted the fifth circuit in the championship to be GYG, but there aren't any Dragon Kart Club meetings this year.
We'll have a bit of a review somewhere around mid-season, and I'll be able to feed drivers' views of what they like and what they don't about this year's championship back to the organisers. If there's sense and consensus they'll let us change things for next year I'm sure, but from my own point of view, and what people are telling me, it's all working out pretty well.
Liam
