I completely understand, and sympathise, but I also don't get drawn into the cheque book competition mentality. I personally chose to spend a modest amount on karting, and try to keep things in perspective. Karting is a hobby for us, and as long as we enjoy our racing then that's good enough for me. There are plenty of competitive classes in karting which do not require a mega budget to have fun, or succeed in. Some, and I don't think it's that many, do appear to get carried away or obsessed with winning at any cost, whether it's money spent, or on track tactics. It's funny how a lot of the wannabes make a lot of noise then disappear.
My view on the sale of chassis after 3 meetings is great! Let someone else buy them new - buy them cheap second hand, then have a damn good go at beating them at the next race meeting.
