I haven't raced for 3 years really so there was a lot to get back up to speed with generally, but had such a good weekend. The motor and kit is so well made and clearly very high quality, and you don't doubt that the manufacturing tolerances are quite tight. Putting it next to a rotax engine is quite a contrast just to look at (and I don't mean no radiator).

The engine itself was faultless all weekend, everything about it is crisp and works perfectly (so far, touch wood). It actually takes a bit of getting used to having response when you want it, and expecting it to struggle if you give it too much throttle but actually it pulls cleanly. The carb particularly is very nice to work with and seems so simple after the rotax. My motor after the weekend now has only just over 1hr on it, it was clearly loosening up over the weekend but my best lap I think was a 41.9, which particularly considering questionable driving, does not seem far off for a motor straight out the box.

Almost the best thing though is everyone you speak to is excited about it, and at least at the moment everyone on the grid is speaking to each other about what works and things to look out for. We hung around in the awning for a couple of hours on Saturday night, whereas with rotax I think everyone just wanted to get out of there. I know everyone there yesterday can't wait for the next race, so obviously the excitement is back!
