Thanks for the supportive words Farrang, bwfcste and Promax. I hope it will make a difference at club level as well as for the region. Formula TKM ought to provide a really good entry level option for karting, and with the Blue grids having died off so badly it would be a shame to think the only stepping stone out of cadets was the Rotax route. As an older driver (well over 40 when I started) TKM has given me a cost effective way of getting out racing, and I've been able to work up to having a competitive chassis and engine over a few seasons while figuring out how to pedal a kart.
If we can get even a fraction of the camaraderie and spirit of helping out fellow competitors, followed by competing hard but fair on the track that I've experienced with small grids at Wombwell and Hooton Park over the last couple of seasons it will be a really good championship.
