if someone wants to spend Ł20,000 on an engine or Ł200,000, that is fine and dandy, it is their money they can do what they like with it and if it gets them where they want to be ,even better,(I don't mind losing to someone with a better driver or a bigger wallet(mine is very small) but it is NOT fine and dandy if that engine is illegal no matter what the cost,if they then win,that defrauds every other person on that grid of their entry fee and that is NOT sport. it is probably only 1 in 100 maybe even less? this only came to light as someone I know had the foresight to have an engine checked by his engine builder before spending a lot of money on the engine, and when looked into, the engine had had "work" done very well on its head hence making it worthless, but someone will buy it? my point was that if people are vigilant and make scrutineers aware of any possible "new " tricks then we are all less likely to be defrauded ?
