Let's put a few things straight! If you ALL re read my initial reply I said that to do the full build less the rod would be around £350 including warranty or if you do the work yourself you will have to pay someone to strip fully check for compliance then rebuild again this will obviously incur labour costs and yet still not have a warranty as the person that conducts the seal inspection cannot verify where the components used came from. It is no use buying something from Tesco and asking Waitrose to cover the warranty should an item fail! The point I was making in reply to the original post is that it is likely to be more expensive to get it sealed than having it done by a service centre. As for the failing batteries, most premature failures of batteries are caused by poor fitment failing to use the vibration isolating gasket, poor charge methods or simply fitting a cheap alarm type battery that is not designed for a kart / bike environment . I understand that the original question was regarding a Minimax and hence should post build be fine for 30 to 40 hours plus which, doing the maths will prove cheaper than the 3 or 4 builds required in that time for some other motors.
