Hi mate, sorry to hear about your final, you were looking strong all day!
Honestly, from first impressions, cannot recommend the class highly enough! They are loads of fun to drive, plenty of grunt - they drive quite similar to a TKM, except with the added benefit of being both clutched and TAG! Laptimes were around low 35s at clay, so not far off the rotax's there on the day. If I am honest, it took me by surprise, I did not expect it to be as fast as it was!
If you were to seriously consider it Steve, there are some really good plus points on top of the above that I know you will like:
1. Box standard class - no one is allowed to mod or tune their engines to ensure a level playing field, however engine is unsealed so you can carry out your own rebuilds 2. Two types of engine available to cater for different driver weights with a restrictor system that really works. This allows heavier drivers to compete with lighter drivers on a level playing field. I'm the proof of that from the weekend! 3. Engine Brand new is very cheap to buy - have a look on Planetkarting.co.uk 4. Good friendly bunch of guys who are all competitive but mainly there for the enjoyment 5. The southern champs all run at circuits that are a reasonable distance, especially for us (Clay, Forest Edge, Dunkeswell, Llandow, Whilton) 6. Had pretty much grids of 20 at all the Blue challenge rounds this year in the South 7. National Final at the end of every year with massive grids
It was the most fun I have had in a kart in a LONG time, and have to say (as you can tell by my clear enthusiasm) that at the moment it is slightly edging all my other options for next year!
