After reading this thread with great interest before this weekends mechanicing at Kimbolton I have made my own conclusions, that unless there is some kind of new skulduggery going on then I'm afraid to say there has to be a difference with the recent tyre batches. Here's a couple of stats about the lap record.
Will Van Es - from last year till July 13 held the record at 42.59
Steve Chisholm - July 2013 the record fell to 42.53
Joe Forsdyke, Van Es, Toby Sowery all broke it in the festival, ended up being 42.48
Van Es, Danny Keirle both end up beating the record again today, with Van Es taking it to 42.34.
As the karts and engines have not changed hardly at all in this year period, I find this very hard to believe that it is not in fact tyre related. If this is true we now have a very serious issue on our hands.
Cue a reassuring email from Talko much like the batch 28 scandal.....sigh
