Hi there basically the same as the newer ones, better oil seal design, but no performance gain, think there a bit lighter than the old ones, about 400 grams, basically if you have a good bottom you've got a good one regardless of year, newer barrels seem to be more consistent , and a lot of the time offer a better bottom end power ,and some the older types seem to give better top end power, new style clutch are better as the older ones are prone to breaking a lot , and seem to perform for me personally better , hope this helps dan
