What do you expect from the MSA (Makes Stupid Agreements ),as well documented these engines have run WORLD wide for over 7 yrs as a TAG engine, for the year 2013 with technology at its highest level ever, the MSA ask for a piece of string to start a race engine. Blame the MSA, IAME have never had this engine as a pull start as far as I am aware, and the uk engine accounts for a very little percentage of their production, did they the MSA not learn anything from 30 yrs of Comer recoils breaking on the line for a final after a little driver has driven their socks off all day just to end up in tears as the string has just snapped !!!!. I feel not enough development time went into this " conversion" and engine approval due to the lateness and lenghthy time scale it took for he MSA to make up its mind on the replacement to the Comer it was rushed through in the last minutes after months of delay, now you guys are developing the starter mechanism !!! Having run all models of IAME engines in the past, just go TAG. YOU tell the MSA,the saying "He who pays the piper calls the tune" comes to mind, wait for them to get off their ~rses and make a decision you will wait forever. I have waited for 14 months for a reply from them regarding a particular class in kart racing, that class has virtually gone in the North West from 40 owners to 6 or 7 racing in local Indy kart basically down to the MSA's lack of action. Having dealt with them since the change from RAC Motorsport about 20 yrs ago in a number of Motorsport avenues,I just find them pathetic. THEY cannot accept any blame for the current downturn in Motorsport, its all down to the economy.
