Wide is good, front and back. 30 mm is not actually as bad as you'd think, but you need to run long hubs and get them out over the ends of the axle. I think with the old JKH I went for 70 mm front hubs and about 30 mm of spacer each side in the dry. Most people went narrower, but I found that the quick turn-in controlled the bounce.
Russ is bang on about the floor, although I've always been on the heavy side. Takes me about 20 minutes to make an aluminium floor if I've got access to a guillotine and folder, so I doubt anyone would charge much for it. Just trace the holes and outline from the old one. Cut it out, drill the holes, bend the sides.
Anyone going to Hoots'mon this weekend? I'm a bit late for phoning my entry in, but will be there even if I'm starting from the back (at worst second or third row I reckon.)
