I’ve been in touch with Dave Wilson at Teesside and he’s confirmed that we’re still on for the 20th, same format as March:
All rules and regs as per the MSA (with sensible concessions). Gates open at 8am, signing on and practice straight away. Qualifying at 11:30 followed by 3 heats at 1:00, 1:45 and 3:00. Final at 4:30 with trophy presentation immediately after.
The entry fee is £30
Although it’s focussed on Senior Max, we still had a Junior and a TKM on the grid last month - young Alistair Parish had his Junior Max right in the middle of the pack! There was a good spread of speed and experience across the grid so everyone had someone to race. Any novices who need some help or guidance are always looked after too – a genuinely friendly meeting.
At last months’ presentation, Dave asked us how many laps we wanted – Heats of 10 and a Final of 12 (like March) or increase to 12 and 15. I think it was a mixed vote so something to consider. He also spoke to a few drivers about putting the Café chicane in for April. Having it out helped with some overtaking in March, but again something to consider. We could even run both combinations during the day? Running the chicane normally means adding another tooth to the rear sprocket so I’d be running 12:81 rather than the 12:80 I ran in March (decrease by 1 or 2 for ‘Monster’ engines!).
See you there! (Mark Singer, Senior Max No.25)
