Personally I never use any software, but if I did I would use it as a rough guide only. Why not fix an adjuster on the carb for practice? Have a fiddle about with it, set it too rich and let the driver feel what it drives like too rich......then set it too lean and let the driver feel what that's like.
Also if you run mychron ebox or similar, you can easily see the differance jet settings make.
