Thanks for the advice - I'll give it a try. I'll also give Lee a ring over the next day or two.
I did speak to the guys at Spellfame earlier - they said that they came across similar problems recently with exactly the same symptoms. They also suggested that the carb may be sealing off at too high a pressure, restricting the fuel flow at higher revs (as opposed to the Tryton Comer carbs which seem to leak like a sieve !!!)
They also suggested trying a lower pop-off pressure. I have ordered a few different weight springs to try out as well as a spare carb. I'll test a few different settings and will post the results if I have any success.
Also, is there a trick to getting the wretched nuts back on that hold the carb onto the engine or is it just my sausage figers that are too big ??
