Top lads both of you; that's the long and the short of it. There isn't a "correct" way to do it, but if someone has something that's worked for them, it's worth trying. Better than that, if someone has a glazing or seizing problem, it's worth working out what might have helped in the running-in procedure.
If you get a seizure when running-in, choking might help, but it's more likely a piston clearance problem that will recur when you first get the engine properly hot. If you suffer from bore glazing (shown by poor bottom end power, but easy to confirm if you pop the head off) might be worth considering letting less oil in, and keeping the load fairly high. Main thing is to keep the revs down whilst the ring and bore get to know one another.
