I've been suffering from the same problem in Senior TKM for a while now. Are the front tyres getting hotter than other karts on the same setup and tyre pressures? I tend to get miles too much heat at the front, resulting in too much front grip by lap 3, followed by horrible front tyres and aching arms by lap 8.
Things that have helped a lot have been moving the seat back, and making sure the front end is fairly stiff, i.e. floor dead tight, and front bumber well bolted up. What year is the Viper, and has it got the cross-bar between the chassis rails under the steering arms? I'm guessing those ones are probably better.
I thought it was lack of strength and fitness with me, but I worked hard on that, and didn't make half as much difference as finding a setup that suited my driving style better.
