Hello
Just wondered what interest there is in buying the new cadet motor or will you be staying with your Comers / Honda / WTP etc?
Really for club racing, as the msa has yet to decide how the iame will be used, un real really
The more I think about it the less I like the idea of a new motor, or at least in the way its be done
Only one championship will use the motor, Stars or S1
It look slike the Honds and Comers will be heavily restricted to make them slower than the iame unit, both in power and weight!!!
For me to go lap 1 or 2 seconds slower than we have been for the last 2 years, really turns me off, and maybe even away from karting full stop, or wait for a year a go to Jnr TKM / Rotax etc stopping cadets totally
Not sure how many club racers will be willing or can spend upwards of £1200 for a single motor with a few spares.
Think the MSA has really missed a trick here, if was .5 second faster, and it could be de-restricted to use in super cadet i can understand the thinking
Even to be used with the same cadet chassis, maybe up rated to a 30mm axle bigger brakes if required etc ???
Then you could keep your kit all the way through to Jnrs / Mini etc
Feel this is going to be another super cadet mess, ie something that COULD of been great was killed will lack of fore sight
I hope this does not damage grass roots karting when it could of been so good
Maybe lots of parents will be glad to see the back of the comers, but you could find that few buy the iame in october and then find out there are few clubs that will run it in 2013
Whats your thoughts will you buy?
