It might be an advantage but not an `unfair' one. Motorsport is expensive and people will spend what they can afford. Some can afford a lot more than others but there are classes where the chequebook is not the main criteria.
here was a story a few years ago about a cadet Mum who called her engine builder on the mobile and the conversation apparently went

"I want you down here now. I didn't spend Ł20,000 this month on engines for someone to pass my son down the straight."

Maybe for her that sort of money was just petty cash whilst for others it would be a dream to have that budget for a season.

When I was at school there was an article in the paper about a Saudi lad at school in the UK who got Ł10,000 a wekk pocket money and back then that was about enough to buy a Rolls Royce every week.

Would you have an engine builder, driver coach, mentor. personal fitness coach etc for your lad if money was no object?
