I have found that the most effective solution is to flip the driver over and get him to use his hands on the pedals and his feet on the steering wheel.

This method gets the weight lower in the kart and further forward, whilst also reducing upper body drag.

I've found this increases top speed by up to 10mph. Try this rather than cutting a hole in the nassau!
