An excellent days racing yesterday at Darley Moor for 125cc Open karts.
For those in ICC / KZ looking for the next step up in exciting but friendly club racing you should take a look at this class. It is small but starting to grow. The racing is still great as we share the race with 250s and many of the 125s beat those!!!
What can be more exciting than 110+mph down Pope Straight and into the final corner powering across the finish line!
2012 is looking promising as the club is looking to run a championship for the 125s. Racing prices are kept the same for 2012 at £100/round which is a little more than short circuit but you get more miles (faster!) and so far we have found less (nil this year) damage as you get loads of respectful driving from the other club members!
For thise that want a taster, the final race of the year is Sunday 2nd October but get there early as crowds of 5,000+ are expected as the motorcycle stars will be there too.
I think you can race with short circuit bodywork or just bars too but please check that out first
race with your ICC / KZ package or modify yourself. There are also a couple of really good tuners around.
Also worth advertising for kit if you can't upgrade on the http://www.superkart.org.uk/ site. You can get a good outfit for around £1200 - £1500
We spent years in short circuit but haven't looked back after our first year in superkarts.
