Paul you say that its just down to the "black box" thing, and that it is just that simple. However bear in mind 99% of people will not understand the technical disscusion you have just had with John (me included in that).
John's program works great, we have used it for a year and it just stops those moments where you have uncertancy on what setting to be on, and this just stops you going the wrong way and lets you concentrate on handling and not be worrying about is it to rich/lean the whole time.
The program works as marketed and seems pretty accurate, the customers are happy. And you try to get into an arguement about the workings of a program and try to outsmart and argue it with the person who wrote the program. To me that does seem slightly stupid
