It seems to me that iant has acted very responsibly in this. Reading his post it appears that before making any modification to a TKM homologated kart, he sought the advice of a scrutineer at a S1 meeting.
It was the scrutineer who said (fron iant's post) that the proposed change would still leave the chassis as meeting MSA regulations but it would no longer conform to the TKM homologation and therefore the number would have to be removed.
Having no involvement with TKM I can not comment of the scrutineer's advice was right and no doubt Talko could confirm this.
Why though start slating iant as someone who is damaging karting by trying to twist the rules when he sought advice first?
