Up until the late 1980's, the youngest that a kid could MSA kart was 11, and that was in a kart FASTER than a BT82!! If she has never driven a kart, then everything depends on how you instruct her to drive.....ie: forewarn her of the acceleration, tell her to blip the throttle rather than floor it, tell her to keep left ALL the way round so that she doesn't turn in on another kart, drum into her that she should always have only ONE foot down & when the right comes up the left goes down etc. Worst case scenario is that she goes out of the pits on full throttle, the engine hits the power band, she freezes, and goes straight on at the first corner......it has happened......but it won't with proper preparation! Much depends on the type of kid she is.
