I think I know how you mean that about racing, Bod, and agree to some extent. But let’s not forget that a substantial proportion of kart owners (the figure for Rotax owners is sometimes quoted, but I’ve forgotten it) do not race and have their reasons for choosing not to. I imagine that, to them, your argument – which others on here also repeatedly make (sometimes probably even if they themselves don’t race!) – may come across as tiresome lecturing. Nor does this choice make them second class, which is also the tone sometimes.
As for KZ1 and Aixro, specifically: I presume the former will be like hens’ teeth to find anyway, but probably ‘cheap’ indeed if he does. The latter are not only raced regularly, but owners frequently get together for practice dates – we’ve had up to 10 doing just that at various circuits around the country. Not much room for boredom there, especially when driving by far the best kart engine money can buy.
