Hi Guys I am having a right old battle with my
nippers B1 engines and its driving me bonkers!
Where should I start? A little history first I
guess, we brought this kart back in November, it
came with two engines which had only a couple of
hours on each both looked after by JM, all in all
a well maintained kart, the lad who had it before
us freighted himself to death so it was a short
lived affair. The kart had sat a year before we
became the new owners. All was going good from the
start had a few practices and then the clutch gave
up on one so decided to get both done to be on the
safe side by BRT. Back on track all going well, dreaded last words!!! The last three outings we
have had nothing but bl@@dy trouble and its knocking
my lads confidence. We have a very good strong spark and we get it started but half way round the track it dies, spark plug looks really oily, carb settings A 1 1/2 - B 1/2 to (3/4). We have 3 carbs which I have put my carb tester on (1) gets upto 15 pops and settles around 5 (2) gets upto just under 10 pops and settles around 5 (3) does not hold. Carbs 1 & 2 I have put new kits in the only thing I have not changed was the needle and seat. Yesterday I couldn't even get it started. Anyone close to Cannock Staffs with experience with these engines who could take a look before the expense of taking them to the builders? as I am probably doing something wrong here!
