32mm or 30/32mm chassis for 177!!!!!

OK, so the assumed knowledge is that the bigger the tube - the stiffer the chassis... In that case why are most 177 driver on a 30/32 rather than 32 all the way?
wouldnt it make sense for the bigger driver to be on the stffer chassis? or does a 32mm chassis just become too stiff to use?

The comparison i am looking at is a CRG road rebel (32mm) vs dark knight (30/32mm) i plan to try and test both but just wanted feedback on peoples experiences so far...
