I honestly don't understand why you cannot simply bolt 6Kg of lead to your kart and be done with it. For instance, if what RoadRat says is true (8Kg of lead carries same time penalty as 4Kg over weight), it seems that lead is better than body mass. From this everybody would want to be really light, and make up the mass in lead.

So, to conclude IF (I have no way of verifying RoadRat's statistic) that is true, you are actually in a fortunate position. Also, professional drivers are increasingly tiny.

Just a bit of food for thought.
