The new BT82 DD comes with clutch compatible crank and crank case, making the switch between DD and clutch a short and simple task. Buy an external starter (we'd never leave home without one anyway) and you've got the best of both worlds.
I don't believe the TaG motors are inferior at all, if anything the bottom end power appears to be better (larger exhaust manifold?) but the issues around looms, multiplugs, on board starter, battery, ECU, rev limiter etc will keep us on DD for the foreseeable future.
