I've got an 08 Viper, and they're not a million miles off the brand new CIK stuff. So long as you push the front and rear widths out more than on the old tyres and put some seat stays on to stiffen it up a bit, there really isn't that much in it.

Depends what you're looking for in terms of outright speed. The new one's probably are quicker (but not significantly), and if that isn't a bother...grab yourself a bargin, and keep the 3k for a new one in your pocket.
