I've raced in both classes for many years (both club and national level) and, in reality, both classes realisticly cost the same to do once you're up and running.
The inital start up costs are higher in Blue and engine rebuilds cost a wee bit more going by memory but difference is that a Blue motor can run upto 15-20 hours without a rebuild and remain competitive whereas a TKM motor really needs a new piston and hone somewhere between 6 to 10 hours running time. The Carb is alot better in Blue aswell, being a Tilly, and doesn't need rebilding after every day like the TKM Walbro.
Depending on whether you like to travel, I would suggest Easykart, which is in my opinion the best of both worlds.
