At Buckmore on Sunday, my son drove the 3-lap practice (Seniors) without touching the kerbs. I had asked him to do this (cue moaning!) because we had only had time to refix the front protector (legally) and the side ones were still off. We estimate that he was 0.6-0.7 seconds per lap off the pace. Having repositioned the side protectors and reverted to the normal racing line the time all came back again. Funny that.

Notwithstanding the mess created by the rule change and MSA declaration, I think that all concerned ie the competitors who protested and the officials who resolved the situation with a temporary compromise should be congratulated.
Above all Chris Pullman deserves thanks for raising the issue with most of the competitors on the Friday, knowing full well that it might affect the attendance at his club.
In the end, it was a fine weekends racing.
