Thank you guy's,
All help is gratefully received, I agree that 3 bolts may do for a cadet sprocket carrier and when I changed the gearing for the first time on the storm and BRM that's all they had in but they had 6 holes so I always put 6 bolts in?
Any way changing the sprocket in the way I described In the previous post has never been a issue until yesterday and always align the sprocket in several places with my laser. This is the only way I've seen it done like I said before it work's for me. Regarding the Kevlar sprockets we've found them really smooth running and showing absolutely no signs of where on sprocket or chain on our 88t after 5/6hrs of running having said that I always clean and relube the chain after every outing as well as wheel bearings. They currently cost around £5 each, extron are trying to get into the UK market they retail for about £20 in the US so I've no doubt the price will rise once they get a foothold. My son Curbed our 91t the sprocket came away unscathed as their is some flex in the sprocket but the chain bit the dust if it had of been a ali sprocket I think it would not of survived the side swipe? Extron do white and black coloured sprockets which I think are made of different compounds.(Does this sound like an ad!)
My father is going to call up this evening (now retired classic car restorer) with what he calls an "adapted sliding hammer" whatever that is?
All my sprocket carriers have an alignment lip on one side only as the other side is curved. Richy I can only remove the outer part of the chain guard as I cannot get to the inner part fixings with the carrier in place.
I'll keep you guy's posted on how we get on.
Once again Ian, Richy, Al. Thank you, Bucky.
