So, Cadet will be for 8 - 13 years olds Cadet Intermediate will be for 10 - 14 years olds Junior TKM/Rotax will be for 12 - 17 year olds.
If my lad is in Cadet at 10 years old and is too big to be competitive in that class, why would I want (even if I could afford) to move into a new class - with new chassis and engine that I couldn't use in Juniors - for maybe only 2 years !! (2 years assumes that he grows at the same rate and would probably be uncompetitive in that class also). I'd probably take a year out with a Junior outfit and do practice days and non-MSA races until the year of his 12th birthday.
If the lad was small enough to stay in cadets until 12 or 13 then again why would I go into the new class - I'd go straight into Juniors !!
I can't see who would go into this class except those that have a lot of disposable income and could afford to change chassis and engines three times in maybe 6 years ............. or am I missing something ??
I sometimes wonder whether the clowns who dream up these changes ever think anything through.
