There are many advantages with being in a team, a wealth of experience and knowledge of set-up from previous years, more drivers to try more changes and focusing in on best set-up early. Dyno testing of carbs and engines prior to the event and more equipment to swop onto if an engine or carb become suspect Bigger teams seem to find out all of the engine, carb, chassis developments that are constantly changing in europe. Finally more people on hand to help when there is a last minute change in weather or if you have a major chassis rebuild to deal with.

In MSA S1 there is only a tenth or two between the field so everything needs to be optimum to be able to compete. If you are on your own you will struggle at times. Not all teams are expensive, but in my opinion it is essential that you have support. Perhaps in a second year when you have experience you may be able to do it on your own. My advice is speak to all teams and find one that fits your budget
