Rule B3.3.11 states: The only additions permitted to chassis are items to meet latest MSA safety regulations.
This is the rule preventing you from repairing a chassis with strenthening tubes, either internal or external. Its a ridiculous situation that could easily be resolved by Tal-Ko issuing a further clarification to add to this rule something like: Local repairs to cracked chassis tubes are permitted by the welded addition of either or both internal or external steel sleeving provided it does not extend to more than 125mm from the crack. I suggest emailing TalKo asking for something about repairs to be included whilst the new class format is still in its infancy and they are in the mindset of "tweeking" things to get it right. I might have missed it, but a quick look through the new regs seems to reveal that they have deleted the previously allowed internal strengthening sleeve up the main chassis rail under the bearing hanger. WHY?
