What are peoples views regarding variations in performance between coils?

Clearly any manufactured part such as a carb, exhaust, barrel etc will have production tolerances which can give a spread of performance, hence the practice of matching parts (or machining in the classes where its allowed).

Just interested in peoples opinions regarding a electrical item such as a coil. I know there is the difference in voltage between the two Rotax coils which may or may not give different results, but i am talking more generally about the possible variation between two electrical parts of the same type?

Thanks
