alanr yes they have a purpse but not a purpose which is NEEDED. helemts are needed for safety just like rib protectors and they aint gona cum off and hurt sum1 are they. chassis protectors CAN. helmets CANT unless you forget to tighten it up which wont happen. and all these are a SAFETY feature. why would you ban something because of safety wen its them which are keeping you safe. chassis protectors do NOT serve any safety purpose therefore the msa i asume are thinking why risk it. eliminate as many hazords as POSSIBLE. you cant POSSIBLY ban engine mounts and chains can you..
