You don't need a laser to check sprocket alignment. Use a metal ruler.

You don't need to spray the inside of the chain with lube. Re apply chain lube after every run on the track. Spin the axle and hold the can still!

If the sprokets are misaligned then the rear sprocket will wear excessively on one side and you'll be able to see this.

It sounds like the chain is miles to tight.
