In oreparation for our first outing at FEKC, we decided to take our 2nd hand cart out for a spin. Having a nice flat industrial my daughter managed to pluck up the courage and use the cart for the first time. To encourage her I had adjusted the throttle pedal to limit the throttle movement.
All started well but then the engine started racing and smoke coming from around the clutch housing. The engine also appeared quite hot. We cut the ignition and I even pulled the HT lead, to stop the engine we blocke the air box.
After all had cooled a bit we started again, to allow we had to tweak the carb adjusters, then it started. I adjusted the throttle after a couple of runs as we appeared to have lots of nose but limiter forward movement.
With the kart home, all smells a bit clutchy. Is it likely that the clucth has burnt out or is there some adjust to be done to stop it slipping.
