The best option for me on the current OTK brake is the OTK Gold Siterd pad which works very well and outlasts the std pad by about 5 to 1 so ultimately this is cheaper. When I tried the Galfer pads I found them ok for feel but not quite as good as the std OTK however, the wear rate was much the same if not slightly greater and they often needed replaceing each day. I have now used some EBC Green pads for a test day and 1 meeting, they proved effective, but extra attention to brake temp was needed on the rolling lap as when cold they produced virtually nil braking effect. Im conclusion the best option appears to be the OTK Gold, closely followd by the EBC Greens with the OTK std pad next and the Galfer last, however the last 2 are a close call favoured by performance over price. May I point out that I race Rotax 177 so the results for a Jnr or Minimax may well differ due to the reduced braking loads.
