im finding at the moment that i can change the gearing on my lads kart by as much as 4/5 teeth either way and he keeps putting in the same times? no faster / no slower? i just cant seem to find an edge when it comes to his gearing? you would think going one way or the other would make a difference but it aint!
can anyone suggest what it is best to run when it comes to gearing for a comer cadet when trying to get the best out of the driver? is it best to run with the lowest gearing we can and let them get used to trying to carry the speed thru the corners in the hope that eventually he will begin to get quicker or a higher gear and let them ride out the corners faster?
i should mention that at the last local meeting a visitor to the track was putting in times of a second lower han anyone but we just cant seem the get that low. infact no one can, but i can be done obviously. or could it be down to engine power?
i feel like pulling my hair out at the moment!!
his times are consistant(withing a 10th or two and running at the front of the grid) but nothing makes a difference and im wondering if he just needs more time in the seat
thanks
dave
