QOT is correct, it's always going to be more difficult to drive when there is less grip, hence the better drivers will handle the difficulty better. Less grip means the kart/car will be moving around more under braking/cornering and sometimes even acceleration and the better drivers will be better at controlling this. More grip means drivers can just stamp on brakes/throttle and lob a car/kart into a corner with the knowledge that it will stick and not slide. Where is the skill in that?
