Does it really matter when and where the last time I raced? The fact is I don't race due to lack of funds but that doesn't make the desire to race any less.
At the end of the day if your a marshall I can't see how it can affect you and I can't see why you are so bothered about it? But to any other racer on a tight budget I know how it can affect them. We all strive to be the best but the reality is that most of us club racers will never be the best due to a lack of funds but just being able to compete at a reasonable level on a reasonable budget is enough to keep us in the sport.
When the red wets were introduced they improved the performance of racing in the wet by about 2-3 seconds per lap. They were and are great to drive but they cost the average racer an extra set of wets per season (over a 12 race season) and that cost equates to around about £12 per race meeting. We could quite safely assume that the new red slicks will be a similar increase in costs.
If you think I am argumentative then you should meet my dad, lol I am nothing compared to him ; )
Chris.
