I am not an expert on this but I believe that the seat is a different size, but as far as I know the needle is the same. Not sure how often they should be changed but did have a problem with one of my Trytons which wouldn't run cleanly, and in the end I changed the needle but not the seat and bingo everything was wonderful. Strange thing was when I looked at the needle using a magnifying glass could see nothing wrong with it, but put it in the bin anyway.
